What to expect
At Mind Muscle Massage Therapy safety and respect are the highest priority.
Please do not book/attend an appointment if you are feeling ill, have an acute medical issue, or have a contagious disease or infection (even if it's contained to one area).
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, 48 hours for premium booking appointments.
To maintain efficiency of the clinic workflow, clients should book online and fill out their forms online before their appointment.
Please wait in your car until about 5 minutes before your appointment to respect the privacy and space of clients before you and of other businesses in the building.
If you need to use the restroom you may enter 10 minutes before, use the restroom, and then wait on the bench just inside the doors. Thank you.
(Restroom is straight through the front door, just past the hallway intersection, and on your right-hand side.)
Mind Muscle Massage Therapy is located in a building with several other businesses, primarily KeitelGroup Insurance. A picture of the building is shown at the top of this page.
Free parking on-site.
Enter through the front door, pictured above, then turn left.
There is a sign on the front door and on the wall inside.
At each appointment the therapist will go over the client's medical history, concerns, preferences, and plan.
A full-body massage includes your back, neck, scalp, arms, hands, pecs, legs, glutes, feet, and face if requested.
Client's may opt-out of having any of these areas massaged.
Client's may request a full body with focus area(s). Client's may also choose a more site-specific massage: for example, "just back and neck."
Enhancements may be chosen at this time.
The best way to get the most out of your massage appointment is to communicate well with your therapist.
It is encouraged to tell your therapist DURING a session if you need a change in pressure, technique, temperature, etc..
Please immediately inform your therapist of any concerns.
If at any time the therapist or the client wants to end the session, or take a break, for any reason they can.
The therapist will leave the room while you get onto the massage table.
The therapist will knock before re-entering, please let them know if you need more time.
If at any time you are uncomfortable, please tell you therapist right away so they may make adjustments.
The therapist typically will allow the client to decide if they would like to chat during the session or stay quiet. Most clients choose to sleep or meditate during their massage. That is a matter of client preference.
A 60-minute massage appointment includes 60 interactive minutes. This includes hands-on time, reviewing health history and treatment plan, and post-massage follow-up.
*If a client is late or needs extra time getting on or off of the table, this time will be adjusted within reason to keep everyone on schedule.
This structure is the same as our major competitors.
Sometimes the therapist may run a little behind schedule, the client's time will not suffer for it.
The therapist will let you know when they are leaving the room so you can get redressed in private.
Please be mindful of the time, there are clients scheduled after you.
Immediately after the massage clients may feel a little light-headed or woozy, this is normal due to the increase in circulation, release of hormones and neurotransmitters, and relaxed (often sleepy) state. Please use caution when standing up and getting redressed.
Open the door to let your therapist know you are ready.
Be sure to check out before you leave.
The day after the massage it is normal to feel a little sore, as if you had a good workout. The best ways to prevent that soreness is by:
~letting your therapist know during your massage if you would like the pressure or technique adjusted
~drinking plenty of water
~being active (according to your baseline)
~getting a good night's sleep
~getting adequate nutrition
Massage has many benefits but is not a substitute for physician or medical specialist care.
Massage therapists do not diagnose, and no conversations should be construed as such.
